Pharmacokinetics

As a splice variant of IGF-1, MGF functions almost identically to it. MGF production is initiated through the actions of human growth hormone, or hGH. HGH interacts with various cells throughout the body, and upon reaching the liver cells, interacts with receptors that produce MGF and IGF-1. Upon being released, MGF circulates throughout the body interacting with almost every cell, including muscle cells.[3] MGF causes the affected cells to grow and reproduce at greater rates. It is recycled by the binding protein known as insulin-like growth factor binding protein.[2]

Scientific Studies

A study on MGF in sheep indicated its potential use in developing muscle tissue. Several sheep that had suffered myocardial infarction, or a heart attack, were injected with MGF daily over 8 days. At the end of the study, there was a 35% reduction in damaged tissue, indicating accelerated cell growth and healing.[1]
